In Texas Hold’em Poker there are three
basic thing that player should keep in mind. These are starting
hand value, position and folding. Following are some of
the Texas hold’em poker tips that can help player
to win the game. Though these tips are very important for
novice players but it can help professionals to improve
their game. Players should keep the following points in
mind while playing:
- Starting hand value: Hole cards or
pockets cards decide the result of the game. It is very
important to learn how to play them. If you have good
combination of hole cards play the game. Otherwise, fold
it and move out of the game. If player cannot make correct
decision at this point of time, he will get himself into
trouble in later stage.
- Position: Position refers to the place
occupied by the player in relation to starting bet. There
are basically three positions: early position (when player
is in first, second or third place), middle position (when
player is in fourth, fifth or sixth place), and late position
(when player is in seventh, eight, ninth…). Position
plays a vital role in the game. Player in late position
has more advantage than the player in the early position
as he has good time to watch his opponents move before
deciding his own. Worse pocket cards can become good in
late position whereas good can be worse in early position.
- Fold: Player should play the game
wisely. If at any stage, player know that he cannot draw
anything he should fold as soon as possible before it’s
too late. It is very important to take right judgment
at right point of time.
- When to call for Raise: Very important;
Player should never call a raise with bad cards in hand.
Player should call a raise after the ‘flop’
is on table and big cards in hand. Player should be careful
while calling pre-flop raises. Wise decision at this point
of time saves lot of money.
- While playing Texas Hold’em poker, player should
be cool and calm. Take your time when it’s your
turn. Don’t take hasty decisions.
Most important: To be the master of Texas
Hold’em Poker, practice regularly. Play as much as
you can. Devote as much time as possible. And one day you
will become a fairly great player. Like the saying goes:
“Practice makes the man perfect.” Play and learn
from your mistakes.
