The rules for Texas Hold’em poker
are quite simple. Some of the terms player should be familiar
of while playing Texas Hold’em Poker are:
- Hole cards: Two cards dealt with face
down to each player in the beginning of the game. Also
known as ‘pocket cards’.
- The flop: Three cards are dealt with
face up on the table.
- The Turn: Fourth card dealt to the
table is called ‘The Turn’.
- The River: Fifth card dealt to the
table.
- Community cards: The five cards on
the table are called community cards.
To be a winner of Texas Hold’em Poker a player should
try and make best poker hand. Best poker hand is formed
by using any five out of the seven usable cards (5 community
+ 2 hole cards). All the members have the equal right to
access the community cards.
General Texas Hold’em poker rules are:
- Each Player is dealt two cards facedown. These are
hole cards.
- Then first betting round begins.
- Dealer flips three community cards called ‘the
flop’.
- After that second betting round starts.
- Dealer then flips 1 more card called ‘the turn’.
That makes four communal cards.
- Third betting round starts.
- Finally dealer turns one more card i.e. is ‘the
river’ on the board. That makes 5 communal cards.
- Then Final betting starts
- After that its showdown round. All players reveal their
cards in this round. And the best hand wins.
- At the showdown player can use either:
- Two pockets cards and three community cards
- One pocket card and four community cards.
- All community cards
